For the second consecutive year, Hamadaya collaborated with ABC Cooking Studio — Japan’s No.1 modern baking and cooking studio, with studios at The Gardens Mall and Pavilion Elite — to inspire home cooks through the joy of learning and the art of Japanese flavour.
Throughout the year, Hamadaya Japanese Soy Sauce and Japanese Oyster Essence Sauce were featured in all ABC Cooking Studio classes, allowing members to experience firsthand how these versatile, award-winning sauces elevate everyday dishes with depth and umami.
As the centrepiece of the 2025 partnership, a special themed workshop — “Dragon’s Palace” — was curated to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, running from 9 to 31 May 2025 at The Gardens Mall studio. Participants learned to prepare three festive delights: Glutinous Rice Dumpling (Bak Zhang), Alkaline Dumpling (Kee Zhang), and Fried Taro Puff (Wu Kok). Each dish was prepared with Hamadaya sauces, combining festive tradition with Japanese culinary craftsmanship.
The sessions drew enthusiastic participation, filled with hands-on cooking in a warm and lively atmosphere. Hamadaya also invited long-term recipe content creators Cathy and Yomii to join one of the workshops, sharing their unique perspectives and inspiring more creative ways to use Hamadaya sauces in everyday home cooking.
The collaboration reflects Hamadaya’s ongoing commitment to making Japanese culinary heritage accessible and relevant to Malaysian home cooks — bridging a 200-year-old brewing tradition from Kumamoto, Japan, with the flavours and festivals of the Malaysian kitchen.
