Hamadaya at Bon Odori 2025: Bringing the Matsuri Spirit to Kuala Lumpur
Hamadaya brought the warmth of Japanese comfort food to Bon Odori 2025, joining both the Sunway City Kuala Lumpur event (12–13 July) and LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre celebrations (26–27 July & 2–3 August 2025).
The Sunway City KL event was co-organised by the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur, the Japanese School of Kuala Lumpur, Sunway City KL, and the Embassy of Japan, drawing approximately 50,000 visitors over the two days.
At the Hamadaya booth, visitors experienced the matsuri spirit with food sampling and sales — including Oden and Spicy Oden Soup, Japanese Curry, and air-fried chicken coated with Soy Garlic, Teriyaki, and Yakiniku sauces. Exclusive event promotions offered great deals on Hamadaya’s ready-to-cook sauces and soup bases.
With every purchase of any Ready-to-Cook Sauce and Oden Soup Base, visitors received a limited-edition Oden Buddy blind envelope featuring collectible characters — Puffy-san, Trio Bath Buddies, Tamago-chan, Shii-chan, and the rare Gentei Shii-chan. At LaLaport, Hamadaya also set up an instagrammable Jelly Cat booth offering a charming oden cart experience.
